Bernard,
I am currently using my Mooshimeter for exactly this purpose. It will depend on the duration of the peaks. With a setting of ‘No Wait’ I get data at about 3Hz. 24 hrs results in a data file of about 18 Mb. You can put a 32 Gb micro SD in your meter. This will give an amazing amount of recording time. Unless my math is way off, this says you should be able to get about 5 years worth of data. Of course, your batteries will not last quite that long. When the batteries get low, the blue tooth will cease functioning and you won’t be able to tell the meter to stop logging. I am not sure if this will result in a corrupted data file. I can’t tell you how soon this will occur as it depends on too many factors (type and condition of batteries, etc.). I momentarily stop logging, check battery and swap SD cards every 24 hours. I ground out the access port for the SD card with small drills and files so I don’t have to continually take the meter apart.
I hope this long-winded reply helps.
