GuestHello,
I’ve been having trouble connecting to a Lenovo Yoga 2 tablet running Android 4.4.2. After successfully shorting it out of shipping mode, I’ve been able to view and attempt to connect to the Moshimeter. However, I continually get Status 113 and toast recomending resetting bluetooth incase of BLE stack problems. I’ve run the gauntlet of fix attempts: resetting bluetooth, resetting the tablet, hardresetting the Moshimeter, updating tablet firmware, checking Moshimeter battery levels, reinstalling the app (tried app, stable and latest) and reminding myself of Einsteins definition of insanity so as not to permanently damage my behavioral persistence.
I’m happy to provide any additional information! Thanks so much for making this project a reality — we’re cheering you on as you fight these bugs!

KeymasterThanks Jack!
Your Android version should work, as should that tablet… sorry the it’s given you so much trouble so far!
One experiment to try: Can you download a generic BLE tool like BLEExplorer and try to connect to the meter that way? If BLEExplorer can connect but the Mooshimeter app is failing, it’s probably an issue in the app itself and the best thing to do would be to wait for an update. The connection seems to be flaky on a number of devices, the root cause hasn’t been identified yet but I think a lot of it is that BLE is still very new to Android.

GuestHey,
I’m picking up this thread again – still no luck with the Mooshimeter since Feb. However I have a couple updates, both figurative and literal.
Since my last post, I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled/updated the app and updated my device to Android 5.0.1. Additionally, I’ve been able to connect to the Mooshimeter Bootloader and successfully updated the firmware through the app.
Yet the problem ensues: trying to connect to the Mooshimeter from the app after the bootloader completes results in a “Connection timed out.” BLEExplorer can detect the device, but also can’t connect. I’ve run the same diagnostics mentioned in my last post.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

GuestAlso, is it just me, or does my icon look like E.T. looking down into a well?
Cheers.

GuestUpdate: Connects without this issue to a friend’s iPhone.

KeymasterHi Jack,
That’s really strange, sorry about that. It sounds like a compatibility issue with your specific device, which is obviously pretty hard to diagnose from here. If it means you can’t use the meter I understand and am happy to offer a refund, let me know over email (hello@moosh.im) and we can arrange it. Or if you want to hold out for an update to your tablet, that’s great too :)
Regarding your icon: Now that I see it as “ET looking down a well” I cannot unsee it.
