      I am just about to attach a MM to a small strip of steel with cable ties; then my plan is to attach the steel strip to my car with a strong rare earth magnet, thereby not drilling any holes in the body.

      Any thoughts on the potential affects of the magnetic field .. ??

      Sorry for the slow reply –

      Early versions of the case actually had magnets embedded in the feet to stick to steel surfaces. It worked fine and did not screw with measurement at all. So I think you should be good to go :)
