I posted most of this yesterday in another topic, but I haven’t noticed any mention of meter firmware versions so I’m reposting it as a new topic.
“I received three meters yesterday, and inadvertently did a firmware update on two of them while connecting with the app (on a Samsung S4 (Android 4.4.2)).
I downloaded the Android app (Feb 17) from the Google Play store, with the following specs:
Updated 16 February 2015, Size 1.1M, Installs 1-5, Current Version 1.0.5
There were no issues with the app installation.
The original firmware version on all three was Build 1421369173.
The two updates went to Build 1418004830. See the screenshots here:
The first screenshot shows two of the meters waiting to connect. The top meter has the original firmware that was on all three, 142…9173. The bottom meter has the “updated” firmware, 141…4830.
The second photo shows the firmware update screen I inadvertently got while connecting to two of them (at different times). I tapped the “Start Programming” button and it went through the process smoothly on each one, taking about 6 minutes each time…
I also put the app on a Google Nexus 4 (4.4.4), and could get to the same firmware update screen using the “original firmware” meter.
I don’t know what the build numbers mean though. I thought that they should increment higher with each successive version. I left the third meter un-updated until I understand what the different firmware versions are.”

Thanks R.H., this is helpful to other forum users
FYI: The firmware version number is actually the build time in UTC. So 1421369173 means Jan 15 2015, 4:46pm (pacific time)

So my meter just updated from 1421369173
which (epoch date calculator) translates to
Thursday, January 15, 2015 7:46:13 PM GMT-5:00 (EST)
it updated to: 1418004830 which converts to:
Sunday, December 7, 2014 9:13:50 PM GMT-5:00 (EST)
Did it update backward?
